Message from Chairman/CEO
At Yusen Logistics, sustainability is not just a goal—it’s a commitment embedded in every aspect of our global operations. In response to evolving expectations from our customers, employees, and stakeholders, we focus on transparency, data quality, and collaboration to ensure our actions are both meaningful and measurable.
We are advancing the integration of sustainability throughout our business—from enhancing our DEI roadmap and supplier due diligence to piloting low-carbon transport solutions and refining emissions data. These efforts reflect our belief that policy must align with performance.
Through the coordinated efforts of our global teams and in partnership with our customers and suppliers, we are building a logistics network that delivers long-term value for all—resilient and agile to meet the demands of tomorrow.
Sustainability is a complex challenge, but through purposeful action and strong partnerships, we are moving closer to our net-zero ambition and continuing to drive positive change across our industry.
Hiroki Harada, Chairman/CEO
Materiality assessment
In early 2025, Yusen Logistics conducted a comprehensive global materiality assessment to identify the most significant sustainability topics for our business, stakeholders, and value chain. This process was closely aligned with the double materiality assessment for Yusen Logistics Europe (YLEU) and reviewed against NYK Group’s priorities, ensuring consistency and relevance across regions.
Objectives of the assessment:
- Validate Yusen Logistics’ global sustainability priorities
- Align with international frameworks such as GRI Standards and ESRS
- Support transparent and structured sustainability reporting
- Identify areas for future improvement in strategy and disclosure
